2010-03-17: mp3diags-x11-1.0.05.050-1 (Fix problems with mp3 files)
In a few words, MP3 Diags is a GUI-based application that allows end-users
to identify issues with their MP3 files, fix some of the issues and make
other changes, like adding track information. It also lets you "look
inside" an MP3 file.
Unlike some programs that are designed to deal with a single topic (like
fixing VBR headers or adding cover art), MP3 Diags is a one stop solution
that identifies more than 50 different issues in MP3 files and provides the
means to fix many of them (well, not everything is fixable; you can't make
a 64kbps file sound like a 256kbps one.)
Some of the more important issues that are found:
* broken tags / headers / audio
* duplicate tags / headers
* incorrect placement of tags / headers (ID3V2, ID3V1, LAME, Xing)
* low quality audio
* missing VBR header
* missing track info / cover art
* broken track info / cover art
* missing normalization data
* character encoding issues (for languages other than English)
Some of the fixes and changes that MP3 Diags can do:
* Adding / fixing track info, including album cover; information can
be retrieved from several sources: Internet, clipboard, file name,
local files, and (obviously) keyboard
* Correcting files that show incorrect song duration
* Correcting files in which the player cannot seek correctly
* Converting characters for non-English names
* Adding composer name to the artist field, for players that don't
handle the composer field
* Renaming files based on their fields
* Changing word case for track info

New upstream version.2010-03-17: cmake-2.8.1-1 (Cross-platform Make)
CMake is used to control the software compilation process using simple
platform and compiler independent configuration files. CMake generates
native makefiles and workspaces that can be used in the compiler
environment of your choice. CMake is quite sophisticated: it is possible
to support complex environments requiring system configuration,
pre-processor generation, code generation, and template instantiation.

new upstream version2010-03-17: spamprobe-1.0a-1002 (Spam filtering using Bayesian statistics)
* Spam detection using Bayesian analysis of terms contained in each
email. Words used often in spams but not in good email tend to
indicate that a message is spam.
* Written in C++ for good performance. Database access using
BerkeleyDB for quick startup and fast term count retrieval.
* Recognition and decoding of MIME attachments in quoted-printable
and base64 encoding. Automatically skips non-text attachments.
MIME decoding enables SpamProbe to make decisions based on words in
the emails rather than base64 gobbledigook.
* Counts two word phrases as well as single words for higher
precision.

2010-03-15: devhelp-0.23-6 (API documentation browser for GNOME)
API documentation browser for GNOME 2. It works natively with gtk-doc
(the API reference framework developed for GTK+ and used throughout
GNOME for API documentation). If you use gtk-doc with your project,
you can use Devhelp to browse the documentation.
Starting in 0.10-1101, the "devhelp" package is a place-holder to let user
pick which rendering engine to use (it's hard-coded and linked at
compile-time, not a swappable back-end). Starting in 0.23-1, uses
webkit (no gecko multiple-choice), so no need for this -viewer
back-end game.

2010-03-14: eigen2-2.0.12-1 (C++ template library for linear algebra)
Eigen 2 is a C++ template library for linear algebra (vectors, matrices, and
related algorithms). It is:
* Versatile. Eigen handles both fixed-size and dynamic-size matrices and
vectors, without code duplication, and in a completely integrated way. It
aims to provide not only vectors and matrices but also many algorithms.
* Fast. Expression templates remove temporaries and enable lazy evaluation.
Explicit vectorization is performed for the SSE (2 and later) and AltiVec
instruction sets, with graceful fallback to non-vectorized code. With
fixed-size objects, dynamic memory allocation is avoided, and the loops
are unrolled when that makes sense. For large matrices, special attention
is paid to cache-friendliness. This Benchmark shows Eigen's outstanding
performance.
* Good API. Expression templates allow for a very clean and expressive API.
Implementing an algorithm on top of Eigen feels like just copying
pseudocode.
